Students are expected to practice and listen to assigned music at least 5 times each week, and preferably every day. Violin lessons produce meaningful results when student and parent follow the prescribed course of study in good faith.
Parents are encouraged to actively participate in their children's practice.
Tuition holds your slot open throughout the year and is required in full whether or not the student attends class. Tuition is payable monthly, due at the last lesson of the month for the following month, or may be mailed to the studio. Keep in mind that the number of lessons during a month may fluctuate.
In-Studio tuition is $45 for 30 min lessons, $55 for 45 min lessons and $70 for 60 min lessons. There is an additional $10 per lesson charge for IN-HOME lessons. The teacher determines the length of lesson required. Commonly, a 30 min lesson is appropriate for a young beginner student, 45 min – for an intermediate child or adult beginner student, and a 60 min – for an advanced student of any age.
Monthly tuition already paid is not refundable in the event a student leaves the studio or discontinues study except in special circumstances.
Student Cancellation and Make Up:
Please keep in mind that tuition pays for reserved time and not the actual lesson itself. Lessons missed by the student without notice will not be refunded for any reason. If you need to miss a lesson you may cancel at least 24 hours in advance of your lesson for a make-up lesson. IMPORTANT: Tuition for lessons canceled in less than 24 hours prior to lesson time is not refundable. Make-us lessons may be offered a maximum of 1 in 60 days.
No credit will remain on the account in the event of absence for 2 or more consecutive lessons (long breaks and vacations). A weekly time slot may not be reserved in the event of absence of 2 or more consecutive lessons.
Lessons canceled by the teacher will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time, or credit will be given towards next month tuition.
Lessons may occasionally run slightly longer or shorter than the allotted time. Please allow some flexibility in your schedule.
The student is required to provide the following:
1. Violin set up which included the violin, bow, violin case, shoulder rest and rosin (the violin set-up can be purchased or rented from a music store. The teacher may be able to provide an instrument for purchase or rent on individual basis)
2. Music stand
Additional fees may include: Sheet music and books, Music Theory materials and recital fees, when appropriate.
